The 14th Fire Emblem game in the famous turn based strategy game series.
The game is set in two warrings kingdoms, Hoshido and Nohr, where the Avatar (default name: Corrin) is classed to be a Nohr prince with Hoshidan royal blood flowing through him. The heroine of the game is an azure colored woman named Aqua, who is of the Nohr royal bloodline, that was captured by Hoshido in attempts to get Corrin back.
Both kingdoms worship two different dragon deities, with the royals being descendants of these two, and this is what ultimately sparked the war between the kingdoms.
The game offers branching paths for the story after Chapter 6. There is no “true path” really, it’s all multiple endings through player choices.
Defend Hoshido – Join with your blood relatives who have the same blood flowing through them. [Water of the Womb]
Fight with Nohr – Join with your familial relatives who you’ve lived with and bonded.
[Blood of the Convenant]
Refuse to choose a side – Become a 3rd force in the war, separate from any allegiance to either kingdom
[Timothy 5:8 “Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.”]
With this game, many new classes have been introduced. Some of them are just “reskins” of previous classes like Samurai/Myrmidon and Dark Knight/Mage Knight while others are complete new classes like Butler/Maid and Ninja
Quite a few of the classes are locked to a specific version due to thematic choice of the classes (i.e the Samurai and Onis are in Hoshido and the Knights and Cavaliers are in Nohr)
Gameplay is, for the most part, the same as Awakening with the Pairing system for assists on attack and defense along with those temporary stat bonuses.
The basic weapon triangle has also been altered to accommodate the new weapons introduced
Sword/Tome –>Axe/Bow –>Lance/Hidden Weapon –>Sword/Tome
